Another cooking class for me, Duck with lentils.
The instructor showed us a few different ways to cook duck breast. One was pan fried and the other was smoked and the third was duck à l'orange. This picture is the smoked duck using sugar, cinnamon sticks, cardamom and star anise.
Carving the duck breast, its great having all the correct tools.
This is the platted smoked duck.
and this is the duck à l'orange. We did get to taste all three, my favorite was the duck à l'orange with the orange flavored sauce.
Sunday we went for a walk in Ravenscourt park.

Another park that was once an estate with a manor house. The Manor house was destroyed in the war by and incendiary bomb.
In the middle of the park was this odd looking tree. Its all trunk with a few branches on top. It was just weird looking .
Across from the tree was the bowling area.

This is the first one we have seen over here. They play from April till September so nothing was going on today.
This is the only building left from the original estate. The building was short and squat'y looking, it was the stable block and is now used as a cafe.
The play area for the kids.
Leanne and I have said they wouldn't have these in the states as there were to many high climbing areas.
and lets scare the heck out of the kids by putting and alligator in the sand box.
Not much for this week.
