This week we did a little walking. First was a Saturday morning walk in Kensington gardens and Hyde park. Well actually Leanne left an hour earlier than me and I met her in the park. Coach was doing his usual routine of looking for and chasing squirrels. Today would be another winning day for the squirrels, as they did not get caught.
We met up for coffee at the Serpentine lake in Hyde park. The swim club was there for there daily swim, no mater how cold the weather is. As you can see by my attire its a bit cold--34 degrees cold. I was freezing just watching them.
Leanne and Coach did about 5 miles, I only did 2. Coach has the right idea of what to do when we got back.
Sunday was a trip to the city of Windsor, Windsor castle and a walk on the Long Walk.
We did not plan on touring the castle on this trip but were able to see the outside of it.

You can't miss the castle as you get close to the city, it is huge. As with most of the other castles we have seen, the first thing i think of is Disney world.
There is one flag pole at the castle, if the Union Jack (British flag) is flying the Queen is not in residence. If the Queens flag is flying than she is in the castle. The day we were there the Queen was home. She must have been sleeping when we knocked on the door---no tea for us.
Along with the castle there is the Windsor great park (good to be the Queen) that is 5,000 acres and was started in the 11th century.

With that much area we knew we would be back again. So for today we would just go on the Long Walk.

The long walk is 2.64 miles long in a strait line. Starting at the castle and ending at the statue of King George II.
It was a nice day for a long walk.
About a mile and a half from the castle we had to pass thru a gate. This is where the red deer herd are, before we saw them Coach was smelling them. We were able to have him off his leash till them. After that he would be leashed and pulling.
He just wanted to run and play with them.
That was the largest herd of deer i have ever seen.
Now it was time for the long walk back. On each side is a double row of trees that are about 50 feet apart.
Back at the castle gate.
Leanne was still trying to have that cup of tea with the queen.
A view thru the gate---i'm still looking for Micky Mouse to come out of the castle.
On to a pub for a pint and something to eat. We found one that was dog friendly.
We walked around Windsor and then walked across the river Thames to the city of Eton.
This town is the home of Eton College, founded in 1440 by King Henry VI.

Our walk from Eton past the castle
500 people live and work in the castle, it the largest inhabited castle in the world.
Near the end of our day in Windsor we came upon this crooked house.

I did my best to push it back into place.
After a Long walk and trying to fix a crooked house we decided to head home.
