Another wet weekend

First off a little info on the British coins.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coins_of_the_pound_sterling
The Pound has the royal shield on it. If you put the rest of the coins together they will also form the shield.

The Pound

The rest of the coins are in Pence, clockwise from the bottom. 50P, 1P, 5P, 2P, 20P and the 10P in the center.

We went to a restaurant Friday night and we noticed the difference on how the British spell digestive's. After dinner we went to the theater to see "The Kite Runner".  Leanne had read the book and enjoyed it, the play was also good.

Coach waiting for food, he always seems to be waiting for food.

Time for a weekend walk, we had planned on going to Wimbledon commons but they were working on the Tube line and we had to get off early.  Change of plans w'ell do a city walk for a while and then walk in a park.
An unusually sign on a house.

As we walked we came to another tube line and also a line of buses. If your wondering if they still use the double decker buses, here's your answer.

We finally got to Bishops park,

We had walked thru this park last year. It follows the Thames river and as we walked the crew boat were practicing.

Today was rainy with temp around 41 degrees, I got colder just watching them.

This is another section of the park that has ducks and other waterfowl in it. Dogs were not allowed in.

On to the football pitch, or soccer field as they say in the US.

Raining and cold and these kids are playing in shorts. They play in all kinds of bad weather.
From this point we would leave Bishops park and be walking on the Thames path.

Behind me is one of the gate entrance's to Craven College football stadium. I guess they don't let big people in. All the doors were this wide.

Statue of Johnny Haynes

Never heard of this guy, had to read about him on wikipedia.

What does Anti-Climb paint do?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-climb_paint
I had to read up on this one also.
This sign was at a retirement home----i'm guessing they have a problem with the old folks climbing.

Farther down the Thames, as you can see the tide is out.

Ever wonder what to do with than mound of dirt in the back yard. Add a head and make it look like a turtle.

Farther down we came another small park, this one had some art in the grass. What this was was old machine parts welded together.

An interesting way to get rid of scrap.

More crew boats, still raining and cold. The building in the back grown is a furniture warehouse for Harrods dept store.

Another sculpture, this one is of three women and is made of stainless steel.

The entire statue uses small squares of stainless welded together. Being I had welded a lot of things in my day, It looked like he was just learning to weld. Leanne suggest that it may have been the look they wanted. After she pointed that out i had to agree with her.

Coach striking a pose, he was getting to the point of being done with the walk.

We are now heading to a different tube line to go home. On the way we passed a house with my Moms name on it. Still looking for her twin sisters house.

The views on these walks never get old, there is always something to see.

After we got home we emptied the back pack and left it on the landing. 25 decided if she couldn't go hiking with us she would take over the back pack. She thinks this was a new bed we bought her.

Our Monday morning walk we came upon this parking arraignment. I guess it was better than a bike rack.
