Hit the little white ball

This past week was my annual golf trip with my brothers and friends. I flew back to the states and stayed at Heather and Keith's house for two nights. I was able to see my kids and grand kids in and also able to make some cinnamon rolls for them.  I had some help with Tucker and Tanner working on the dough. Good thing i messed up the first batch so they had something to work with.

After working in the kitchen we went to the school to see Seeger's science project. She had made a flash light out of a mountain dew bottle.

On Saturday it was time for us to head south for the golf trip.  The drive was a little over 10 hours so we decided to break it up and play 18 holes at a course on the way down.

The course we played at was the Pete Dye River course in Virginia. The course is on some low land and it was a very windy day. There was a few difficult shots, this is Dan with a very bad lie.

and me with one of many bad lies.

As you can see it left some of us very irritable.

Back on the road after a horrible round of golf, we headed to Rock Barn Country club in Conover, NC. I was hoping a different course would change my luck.

Pat was in charge of the Bloody Mary's for breakfast. A good way to start the day, or give you an excuse for a bad day of golf.

There seem to be an abundance of bad shots in the trees, this one by Herb.

And we should have brought a pail and shovel for the times in the sand. Mike taking his turn in the fluffy stuff.

And Jim found a strange  hazard in the sand.

I had a good golf partner with Herb but still golfed bad.

Dan done on the tee box and Pat getting ready to hit.

More than likely it went strait and long.

Mine on the other hand just made it over the sand trap.

While i was losing golf balls, (the only thing i was good at) Leanne was back in London. On one of her morning walks with Coach she saw three foxes. They just sat and watched as Coach was trying to figure out a way to get over the fence.

Well that gate was closed so on to another park with an open gate.

Back to the guys losing golf balls, on Monday we played a three man scramble for a green shirt. Just like the Masters green jacket only a lot cheaper. We do this every year and the winner wins a green shirt, some cash and bragging rights for the year.

The course was River Oaks

Very hilly with a lot of trees.

And it was a inexpensive course,

Jim DuRussel, Dan Rogers and Mike Coutts getting ready to hit on #10 as Herb looks on.

I picked up the shirts in London,

The winning team of Jim, Dan and Mike at 2 under.

Dan Herb and Pat on the porch at the house at the end of the day.

The view of the 17th green from our porch. Next time well have to bring glow balls for at night.

And after golf there is always time for cards. For the week I only had two rounds that were decent, the rest were horrible. But in the money winning category i came out on top. I scored when i had to and that's all that counts.

While i was gone there was a lot of thunder storms that Leanne, Coach and 25 had to live through. For 25 it was not a bother, and Leanne likes them. Coach on the other hand is not to fond of them and ends up going into the spare bedroom to hide. It's his man cave.
While in the states I picked up a thunder shirt for him. Its a coat/shirt that fits tight around him, like someone hugging him. We put it on him and he didn't move, he was stuck in this pose for a while.
I think it will work fine.
